Cuban Picadillo Recipe

Ingredients:
2 pounds lean ground beef 1/2 green pepper 1 onion (finely chopped) 2 cloves garlic 1/4 cup dry red cooking wine 1/2 teaspoon cumin 8 to 10 cherry tomatoes 1/4 cup raisins 1 bay leaf

Directions:

Place olive oil in non-stick saucepan and add garlic, onion and pepper.

Sautee over low heat until soft (approximately 2 ).

Add ground beef , salt and pepper to taste.

Move heat to medium and keep turning mixture until beef is browned.

Add cherry tomatoes, raisins, bay leaf and cooking wine.

Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for approximately 15 minutes or until mixture has thickened and ground beef is cooked through.

Remove bay leaf and serve over white rice.

Extra Tip:
Traditionally peccadillo is served over fluffy white rice with a light salad, and fried plantains on the side.
