Old Fashion Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup white sugar 1 cup butter 1 egg, lightly beaten 3 tablespoons cream 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a large bowl. Mix in butter until smooth. Stir in lightly beaten egg, cream and vanilla. Mix well. Dough may be chilled, for easier handling. On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into fun shapes and sprinkle with sugar. Transfer to cookie sheets and bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 375F, or until lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
Easy Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup butter, softened 1 1/2 cups white sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F. In medium bowl mix together flour, baking soda, and baking powder and set aside. Mix butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Blend in flour mixture a little at a time. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
Brown Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup butter (softened) 1 egg 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Mix butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Beat in egg, heavy cream and vanilla. Slowly add flour mixture and mix until well blended. Cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour (until dough is chilled and easier to work with). Roll out dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1/8 of an inch. Cut with fun cookie cutters and place 1 1/2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375F, until lightly browned.
