French Toast Sticks
Ingredients:
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon butter
4 slices bread (each cut lengthwise into 4 pieces)
Sugar
Cinnamon
Maple syrup
Directions:
Melt butter in skillet. Mix eggs, milk and vanilla in bowl. Dip slices of bread into mixture until completed soaked. Brown the soaked bread in skillet on each side. Sprinkle with a little sugar and cinnamon and serve with maple syrup.
Sunday Brunch French Toast Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 (1 pound) loaf French bread, cut diagonally in 1 inch slices
4 eggs
1 cup milk
3/4 cup half-and-half cream
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon and 1-1/2 teaspoons light corn syrup
Directions:
Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange the slices of bread in the bottom. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over bread slices, cover, and refrigerate overnight. The following morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar and corn syrup; heat until bubbling. Pour over bread and egg mixture. Bake in preheated oven, uncovered, for 40 minutes.
Extra Tip: This recipe is really easy to make and will be a big hit with the whole family. Very convenient because you can prepare it the night before. Great classic for Christmas morning, Sunday brunch or anytime.
Cinnamon Apple French Toast Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup butter (melted)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
20 slices white bread (crusts trimmed)
6 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup maple syrup
Directions:
In a bowl, stir together melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour mixture into the bottom of greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Spread the apple pie filling evenly over the sugar mixture. Layer the bread slices over the apple pie filling (gently pressing down). In a separate bowl beat the eggs, milk and vanilla. Slowly pour this mixture evenly over bread. Cover pan with foil and refrigerate overnight.
The next morning, preheat oven to 350F. Place covered pan in oven and bake for approximately 60 minutes. Remove foil and drizzle maple syrup over French toast. Place under hot broil for 2 minutes or until the syrup begins to caramelize. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve while still hot.
