English Shepherds Pie Recipe

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef 1 onion (finely chopped) 1 cup frozen peas 1/2 cup carrots (diced) 2 cloves garlic (minced) 1 packet brown gravy mix 1/2 cup water Worcestershire sauce to taste Salt and pepper to taste 6 cups mashed potatoes

Directions:

Boil potatoes until tender. Drain water and mash without adding any additional ingredients and set aside.

In a heavy skillet brown meat, onion and garlic for about 4 to 5 minutes. Drain fat.

In a separate bowl stir together gravy mix and hot water.

Add gravy mixture, Worcestershire sauce, carrots and peas to ground beef mixture. Stir well.

Place ground beef mixture at bottom of baking pan.

Top with mashed potatoes.

Make a swirl design on mashed potatoes using fork and sprinkle with salt.

This will help the potatoes brown lightly at the top.

Bake at 350F approximately 30 to 45 minutes or until potatoes are lightly golden brown.
