Easy Shepherds Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1 cup frozen peas

1/2 beef stock cube

1 packet brown gravy mix

1 teaspoon garlic powder

6 cups mashed potatoes

Grated cheddar cheese

Directions:

  • Boil potatoes until tender.

  • Drain water and mash without adding any additional ingredients and set aside.

  • In a heavy skillet brown meat for about 4 to 5 minutes. Drain fat.

  • Add garlic powder and 1/2 stock cube to meat and mix well.

  • In a separate bowl stir together gravy mix and hot water.

  • Add gravy mixture and peas to ground beef mixture. Stir well.

  • Place ground beef mixture at bottom of baking pan. Top with mashed potatoes.

  • Make a swirl design on mashed potatoes using fork and sprinkle with salt.

  • This will help the potatoes brown lightly at the top.

  • Top with cheddar cheese and Bake at 350F approximately 30 to 45 minutes or until potatoes are lightly golden brown.
