Classic Meat Loaf Recipe

Ingredients:

2 pounds lean ground beef
2 large eggs (beaten)
3/4 cup crushed buttery round crackers or breadcrumbs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic salt

For the Glazing

1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

  • In a large bowl combine all meat loaf ingredients (not glazing ingredients).

  • Mix together well and place into a meat loaf baking pan or shape into a loaf shape and place on regular baking pan.

  • In a separate bowl combine glazing ingredients and mix well.

  • Spoon half of the glazing mixture over meat loaf. Reserve other half of mixture.

  • Sprinkle top of meat loaf with parmesan cheese.

  • Bake at 350F approximately 45 to 55 minutes or until meat loaf is browned and cooked through.

  • Spoon remainder of glazing mixture over meat loaf about 10 minutes before cooking time is complete.
